Alice+Olivia Unpaid Intern Settlement Notes

  • In re Alice+Olivia LLC Intern Settlement
  • Case No. 150527/2015
  • Pending in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County

Plaintiffs Meaghan Lass and Shannon Friedmann brought this class action lawsuit against Alice+Olivia claiming the contemporary clothing company violated New York labor laws by failing to pay interns minimum wages. Alice+Olivia launched in 2002 at Barneys and is now sold in over fifty countries.

Essentially, the plaintiffs claims that Alice+Olivia improperly classified them as interns because they performed the tasks and had responsibilities of actual employees, but were not paid appropriately.

Alice+Olivia denies that it violated the law or that it owes any interns wages but agreed to settle the case to avoid further litigation. More details about the case and settlement are provided on the Alice+Olivia Intern Settlement website.
