Plaintiff Keith Lacy filed this class action lawsuit against Azuma Foods International claiming the company failed to pay him and other employees overtime wages, provide meal periods and rest breaks, and issue proper wage statements in violation for California Labor Code.
Specifically the class action lawsuit alleges that Azuma Foods hired Lacy and other Class members, classifying them as hourly-paid, non-exempt employees but never compensated them for all hours worked or for missed meal periods or rest breaks.
Azuma Foods denies all the claims alleged but agreed to settle the case for $1.9 million to avoid the risk of continued litigation. Complete details about the case and settlement are provided on the Azuma Foods Employees Unpaid Wages Settlement website.
